Imagine if you will:

Im approaching a 4-way stop a couple blocks down, when a couple on individual bikes, each weilding a canine  upfront in tether. As they blow through the intersection, the black lab looking pupper for some reason crosses sharply from left to right to return to the sidewalk. In the brief moment, the leash become ensnared in her front spokes and the bike seized. The lady fell like timber, bike and all, into the pavement.

Her husband jumped off his to assess the damage. She was waving him off, her pride looking in worse shape than her body. He unwrapped the leash from the wheel.

Many things went wrong there. His dog was running along side the bike; but black doggo looked to be pulling with all its might... But the good news is that the doggo is totally unharmed!

W e have a young woman in our neighborhood that walks three german shepherds , (two adult, one probably less than a year,) all leashed to the front of her double wide stroller with her two small kids in it. They are not the best trained animals so directional control of the entire unit is questionable... I admire her proactiveness, but cringe at the possibility of it getting dragged out into the street...

This is a constant possibility when walking my dog on foot. Nothing could compel  me to try and wrangle my dog AND a bicycle.
